🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess the relevant academic and professional qualifications for the position applied for.
Academic Positions
- Master's Degree in the relevant discipline with 15 years of post-qualifying academic/research experience, including 5 years in a senior managerial position at a Higher Education Institution (for Deputy Director General).
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Agriculture, Information Technology, or a related field with NVQ Level 7 or equivalent (for Assistant Lecturer positions).
- Relevant Degree with NVQ Level 6 or equivalent (for Demonstrator positions).
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant post-qualification experience depending on the position.
- Internal applicants may qualify with the required service period and recognized academic qualifications.
💼 Administrative & Professional Positions
Accountant
- Higher National Diploma in Accountancy or intermediate qualification from ICASL, CIMA, ACCA, or a Degree in Management/Commerce.
- Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in Accounting & Finance.
- Internal applicants should have at least 5 years of service in the relevant managerial grade.
Assistant Registrar
- Degree from a recognized university.
- Relevant experience in Office Administration or Management in the public sector or statutory institutions.
- Internal candidates with required service experience may also apply.
Library Assistant
- Degree in Library Science, or
- Diploma in Library Science with 3 years of experience in a higher education library.
🛠Technical & Support Positions
Management Assistant

Passed G.C.E. (O/L) in 6 subjects (within 2 sittings) with Credit Passes in:
- Sinhala/Tamil/English Language
- Mathematics
- Three other subjects
- Passed G.C.E. (A/L) (minimum 3 subjects)
- Qualification in Information Technology, Typing, or Stenography
Farm Manager
- Higher National Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Technician
- Passed G.C.E. (O/L) with 6 subjects in not more than 2 sittings.
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
Driver
- Passed G.C.E. (O/L).
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence.
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience.

- Strong academic, technical, or administrative knowledge relevant to the position.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Ability to work in a higher education environment.
