🎓 General Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the basic requirements applicable to the category and trade they are applying for:
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Applicants should be unmarried.
- Must have completed the required basic educational qualifications.
- Must have passed Grade 10 or completed Grade 05 in Pirivena education.

Must have passed G.C.E. (O/L) with:
- 06 subjects, including Religion and Mathematics.
- At least 02 Credit passes, including Sinhala or Tamil Language.
- Examination completed in not more than two sittings.
- Educational qualifications obtained through National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) programs will be considered where applicable.
- Applicants may be required to have completed a minimum 03-month certified vocational course at a government or government-registered institute.
- Relevant professional experience and qualifications will vary according to the trade.
🛠️ Technical & Vocational Qualifications
Depending on the position, applicants may require:
- NVQ Level III or higher qualification relevant to the profession.
- A minimum 03-month certified vocational course from a recognized institution.
- National Certificate in Technology (NCT) in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical fields.
- Relevant technical qualifications in engineering, construction, electrical, mechanical, electronics, refrigeration, telecommunications, IT, or vehicle maintenance.
- For certain technical positions, relevant G.C.E. (A/L) qualifications may be required.
🚗 Driver & Transport Requirements
Applicants applying for driving-related positions may be required to have:
- A valid Heavy or Light Vehicle Driving Licence, depending on the position.
- At least 06 months of relevant driving experience obtained through a government or government-registered institute.
- Relevant training and experience for specialized vehicle operations.
💻 Computer & Administrative Qualifications
For relevant administrative and IT positions:
- Completion of at least a 03-month certified computer Sinhala or English typing course.
- Ability to prepare documents in Sinhala and/or English using a computer.
- Relevant accounting qualifications for Accounts/Audit positions.
- Appropriate qualifications in Computer Science, Hardware, Networking, Telecommunications, Cyber Security, or related fields for technical IT positions.
Music & Cultural Qualifications
Music positions may require:
- Ability to read and write Western music notation.

Ability to play one or more musical instruments, including:
- Clarinet
- Trumpet
- Cornet
- Saxophone
- Trombone
- Tuba
- Euphonium
- Bass
- Horn
- Flute
- Drums
- Ability to sing in Sinhala, English, Tamil and Hindi.
- Strong proficiency in playing instruments such as organ and guitar where applicable.
Cultural Dance positions require completion of recognized Eastern and/or Western dancing courses.
🧪 Science & Medical Qualifications
For selected medical and science-related positions, applicants may be required to have:
- Passed three G.C.E. (A/L) subjects in one sitting from the relevant stream.
- Relevant combinations of Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Physics, Combined Mathematics or Advanced Mathematics, depending on the position.
- For certain medical/technical positions, a Credit pass in Physics together with two relevant science subjects may be required.
- Applicants with a relevant NVQ Level III or higher qualification may be eligible under the applicable trade requirements.
