🎓 Educational & Professional Qualifications
Applicants must possess the relevant qualifications and experience required for the position applied for.
Management & Senior Management Positions
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Marketing, Commerce, Science, Engineering, or another relevant field recognized by the UGC.
- Relevant Postgraduate Degree (Master’s) or Associate Membership of a recognized professional Chartered Institution.
- PhD in a relevant field where applicable.
- Attorney-at-Law qualification for relevant legal positions.
- Full/Fellow Membership of a recognized professional Chartered Institution.
- Relevant managerial experience ranging from 13 to 17 years, depending on the position.
🏗️ Professional Qualifications by Field
Technical / Engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL).
- Relevant technical qualifications and professional experience.
Environment

Finance / Audit
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Commerce, or Business Administration.

Information Technology
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Human Resources / Industrial Relations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Public Management.
- Relevant degree qualifications for Industrial Relations positions.
Legal / Security
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Sociology for relevant positions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Defence Studies for Security-related positions.
🛠️ Technical & Support Qualifications
- NVQ Level 5, 6 or 7 qualification for relevant technical positions.
- G.C.E. (O/L) with six subjects and required Credit passes.
- G.C.E. (A/L) with three subjects for applicable positions.
- Minimum 01 year of post-qualification experience for relevant positions.
- Minimum 05 or 10 years of post-qualification experience, depending on the position.
- Minimum 06 months of experience in fire-related functions for the Fireman position.
💼 Experience Requirements
The required experience varies according to the position and includes:
- 17 years of managerial-level experience
- 15 years of managerial-level experience
- 13 years of managerial-level experience
- 05 or 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience
- 01 year of relevant post-qualification experience
- 06 months of experience in fire functions
